The Awards & Business Capability (ABC) Program 2026 supports local visitor economy businesses to develop high‑quality NSW Tourism Awards submissions and lift business capability.
A three‑part workshop series helping Newcastle visitor economy operators develop quality awards submissions and lift business capability. Each session combines 60–90 minutes of targeted content with 20–30 minutes of guided work time, so you leave with tangible progress on your entry and tools you can reuse.

Tours/experiences, attractions, accommodation, venues, events, and retail/services in the visitor economy space
Operators considering entering the NSW Tourism Awards in 2026, or wanting to sharpen business practice aligned to awards criteria.

All workshops are in person at the Lord Mayor’s Reception Room, Level 6, City of Newcastle Offices, 12 Stewart Ave, Newcastle West NSW.
Workshop 1 – Thursday 19 March, 1-4pm Focus: Business Overview & USP + Business & Product Development (what changed, why, outcomes)
Workshop 2– Thursday 2 April, 1-4pm Focus: Marketing & Research (target markets, strategies, measurement) + Customer Service & Accessibility (journey mapping, inclusion)
Workshop 3 – Thursday 16 April, 1-4pm Focus: Sustainability & Responsible Practices (environmental, social, economic) + evidence planning and next steps
