Hosted by Hunter Local Jobs, Hunter Plant Operator Training School (HPOTS) and EmpowerHER Pathways, the free event will provide women with practical information about career pathways into the crane industry.
The session will feature Yvette, Vanessa and Shalienne, who attended the first event as audience members while considering a career change. Since then, they have completed their Dogging training, updated their resumes and are actively seeking entry-level roles within the industry. They are also preparing to commence training in Crane Operations (Slewing Mobile Cranes up to 60 tonnes).
Their stories will offer an insight into what it's like to take the first steps into the industry, while highlighting the training, determination and support that can help turn a career aspiration into reality.
Bronwyn Musgrove, General Manager of Hunter Plant Operator Training School (HPOTS), will also outline industry training pathways, licensing requirements and employment opportunities within the crane sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, gain practical advice and hear firsthand about the challenges and rewards of working in the industry.
The free information session will be held at Hunter Plant Operator Training School on McFarlane Street, Cessnock, on Tuesday 4 August 2026, from 10.00am to 11.30am. Morning tea will be provided.
If you've been thinking about a career in the crane industry or would like to learn more about the opportunities available, this information session is a great place to start.
