Connecting Global Talent With Local Opportunity

The Newcastle International Careers Day 2026 will take place on Monday, 23 March 2026 at the University of Newcastle's iconic Great Hall, Callaghan Campus. This flagship event connects international students, skilled migrants and refugees with employers and career opportunities across the Hunter region. 

The event is funded by Study NSW, in partnership with the City of Newcastle, The University of Newcastle, TAFE NSW, College of International Education, Business Hunter, Mosaic Multicultural Connections, Training Services NSW, Genu Training, Hunter Local Jobs, and Refugee Education Australia. 

What to Expect

The event features an interactive, expo-style format with employers from a broad range of industries, including:

  • Hospitality
  • Construction
  • Mining
  • Health Care
  • Customer Service
  • Administration
  • Manufacturing / warehousing
  • Information Technology

Employers will showcase full-time, part-time, graduate and casual roles, with opportunities for attendees to engage directly, ask questions, and explore career pathways aligned to their skills and experience.

Attendees will have access to free, practical career support services, including:

  • Resume writing assistance
  • LinkedIn profile coaching
  • Professional headshot photography
  • Workshops on Australian workplace culture and job-seeking strategies

Short presentations will run throughout the day, offering insights into industry trends and tips for securing employment in the local job market.
